Holiday is around the corner!

Fanlala talks with Logan Henderson, Kenton Duty & Logan Miller!

We love hearing what our favorite stars are listening to, and who should be on our radar. Check out who they’re listening to our Music Monday blog!
Logan Henderson (Big Time Rush)-”I can’t stop listening to The Temper Trap.”
Savvy & Mandy- “Even though they are not a new band, we love Paramore. Their music is amazing, and we think Hayley Williams is so talented!”
Kenton Duty (Shake It Up)-”I really like a new band called R5. They are a family band. They have great music. The band puts on a super, fun show. Plus, they are really, genuinely nice!! Although not a band, another musician everyone should listen to is Devon Werkheiser. His music is great. He writes from his heart and is very talented. He, too, is genuinely nice. If you can’t tell, I like music because the musicians are talented, but also because they are good people too!!”
Logan Miller (I’m in the Band)-”Dead Man’s Bones, which is Ryan Gosling’s band with a whole children’s choir. The sound of the band is almost haunting, its really great!”

Jingle Bells 2010- Nickelodeon Stars

Bravo.de Facts you diddnt know about BTR

Thanks for Big time Rush TV for the translation from German to English!

1. Bungee-jumping, go-carting and skydiving: Logan loves jeopardy and action. “I’m kinda addicted to the weirdest things!”
2. Kendall buys organic food only. “This way I protect the environment – and it tastes delicious!”
3. Wow, he’s got muscles: James is able to do several pushups while doing a handstand. “That’s my crazy talent!”
4. The boys like to hang out with the actresses Miranda Cosgrove and Victoria Justice. Their favorite pastime: Hockey!
5. “Whenever I’m nervous I gnaw my nails like crazy,” admits Kendall.
6. “Carlos is the neatest out of us all. If he sees something on the floor he can’t just leave it there and keep walking. He’s such a cleaning freak!,” says Logan.
7. James absolutely loves the colors purple and pink.
8. Lizards are disgusting? Logan doesn’t agree – they are his favorite animals.
9. Hot, hotter, Megan Fox! Carlos would love to go out on a date with the actress: “Her tattoos and her body turn me on!”
10. Kendall and Logan have known each other for years. The two went to the same kindergarten. At the “Big Time Rush” set they met Carlos, then James. The four have become a real family: “We’re like brothers,” says Carlos.
11. Carlos is a great protector: The 20-year-old is a black belt in the Asian martial art Taekwondo.
12. Until recently they were all single. But James has been spotted hanging out with the beautiful actress Ciara Hanna a few times. When he was asked about her, he stammered and turned red. We stay tuned!
13. Who’s sweeter? Carlos or the puppy Stella? He saw the four-legged friend running around in the studio: “Dogs are sooo cute!” he says.
14. When the four have a day off, they prefer karaoke singing in some small bar in New York.
15. You remember the first concert you went to? Kendall does: “I’ve seen Britney Spears live! Awesome,” he says.
16. Yes, some boys look hot as Cheerleaders too! For three years Carlos was the most popular Cheerleader of the Lions at the Sage Mont Upper School in Weston, Florida.
17. At the age of six, James was involved in a serious car accident. He broke his leg, an arm and a cervical vertebra.
18. Carlos’ father is from Venezuela, his mother from El Salvador. The South American roots could be the reason for his favorite food. He likes paella, a rice dish with seafood!
19. The boys are really into Miley Cyrus: “Her music is just great. I always sing ‘Party In The USA’ in the car. One time it was at a red light, everybody was laughing,” recalls Kendall.
20. “I was pretty thick,” says James. The boy band motivated the actor to do sports and have a balanced diet. Right now he feels comfortable in his skin.
21. White, snowy landscape and huge mountains: The boys adore snowboarding. “It’s the perfect recreation,” says James.

Nicole Dabeau meets Big Time Rush on the set!

ETonline’s Nicole Dabeau is on the set with the guys of Nickelodeon’s breakout hit “Big Time Rush”!
The series follows the adventures of a group of four young guys making their way in the music world.
“We’re not trying to copy anything,” the boys told Nicole, distinguishing themselves from the average boy band. “All four of us have totally different voices and that’s created this band and we’re going with it.”
The show is a huge hit, launching them into stardom in real life too. This past Saturday, their one hour TV movie “Big Time Christmas” — featuring Miranda Cosgrove and Snoop Dogg — premiered with almost 5 million viewers. Now they’re adding even more star power to their ranks!
Russell Brand lends his quirky humor to the mix in a guest-starring role in an upcoming episode. The comedian shows off some fancy dance moves, and even reveals his painting skills!
Watch the video to see all the hilarious action behind the scenes.

Clayton Johnson: Our Day Filming On Nickelodean’s Big Time Rush!

Brian and I were fortunate enough to help be a part of a special beach episode for the Nickelodean show Big Time Rush! We filmed at a beautiful mansion overlooking Zuma Beach in Malibu. The view was incredible, and the house was amazing! We were also lucky enough to film with comedian Russell Brand. He wouldn’t stop making jokes the whole time. We had such a fun time onset, and it was so good to see our boys in Big Time Rush again. Be on the look our for this special episode, and I’ll be sure to let everyone know when it airs!

Big Time Rush to perform at 2011 Delaware State Fair

FROM DOVER POSTBig Time Rush, the boy band stars of their very own Nickelodeon hit show, will be hitting the stage at the 2011 Delaware State Fair on Sunday, July 24. Tickets will go on sale in time for Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, on www.DelawareStateFair.com
Tickets are $40 for track and stadium seating and $35 for grandstand and clubhouse seating. Those that purchase Big Time Rush concert tickets are also eligible to buy the Sunday Fun Pack. This special package includes an unlimited ride wristband and gate pass for Sunday, July 24. Each $25 purchase of a Sunday Fun Pack will enter you in a giveaway that includes band meet and greets and many other prizes.
The Big Time Rush series debuted last fall to the highest rated and most viewed premier in Nickelodeon’s history. The live action show featuring Logan Henderson,  Carlos Pena, James Maslow, and Kendall Schmidt continues to attract 3 to 4 million viewers each episode.
The show follows four friends from Minnesota as they hit it big and move to Los Angeles after winning a contest to become the “next great boy band”. Although the band members are from various parts of the country, the show still follows many parallels to the band’s real life music career.

Although they’ve sold nearly 900,000 combined digital singles to date, this full-length release has been a long time coming. After a two-year audition process and a whirlwind year of filming, recording and promoting, the band eventually holed up at a Los Angeles studio for just over two weeks to record BTR. The album reflects the guys’ boy band aesthetic, but it also taps into a spectrum of genres, including pop, R&B, rock and dance.
“I think people are going to be really surprised by the kind of music that’s on the album,” Kendall says. “It shows the diversity in the group and the different styles of music we’re into, and it’s really interesting to hear the mix of our voices – it’s hard to even put a genre on it.”
Big Time Rush recently released their first album entitled “BTR.” The album debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Album list at number three. Although Big Time Rush TV viewers have heard some of the 11 songs on the album on the show there are other songs that are new to fans. The first single and video from the album is “Til I Forget About You.”
Tickets for the Sunday, July 24, show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17. Patrons can visit www.DelawareStateFair.com or call to purchase tickets.

BTR tells you what they do before a show!

The hotties of Big Time Rush put on an amazing show this weekend at the Citadel Outlets in Los Angeles. We got a chance to sit down with them before their performance and ask some juicy questions. We wanted to know what the guys do when they’re just hanging out in their dressing rooms. Dying to know?! Watch the video above.
Before the guys hit the stage at the outlets, they hung out with their friends and families. They had fun goofing around with their fans, too! The boys waved out the windows to hundreds of screaming fans before the show started. Later, BTR rocked the stage and even preformed their holiday single, “Beautiful Christmas.” It totally got us pumped for the holidays!

Big Time Rush top ten on top!

Big Time Rush about the Christmas Episode!

Popstar! Magazine spoke with Big Time Rush about their upcoming Christmas episode (TONIGHT!!!!!!!). Check it out:
All we want for Christmas is….Big Time Rush! And thank goodness the boys are happy to oblige by bringing us an hour-long movie special, Big Time Christmas, this Saturday (December 4 at 8pm) on Nickelodeon. The boys team up with some major guest stars to bring Christmas cheer to LA when their plans to return to Minnesota for the holiday are canceled.
James, Kendall, Logan and Carlos gave us some exclusive scoop on what to expect from Saturday’s big episode! (And what it was like hanging out in their PJs with Snoop Dogg.)
Popstar!: Can you tell me about Big Time Christmas?
James: We were all very very excited about that. It’s a double episode, it’s a movie, and we have a few amazing guest stars. Including Fabio comes back, who plays Santa for a little bit.
Kendall: You can’t really have Big Time Rush without Fabio.
James: You really can’t.
Logan: He’s hilarious.
James: And Miranda Cosgrove, she’s in it as well, guest starring. And last but definitely not least is Snoop Dogg. So we have an amazing line-up of guest stars and some great music, too. We have an original Christmas song called “Beautiful Christmas” that we’re really proud of. And we cover a couple songs.
Popstar!: How was it working with Miranda?
James: It was great. She’s really a sweetheart and it was nice to have a different vibe on set. And with a mostly male staff and an entirely male crew it’s nice to have another girl on set in general.

Popstar!: And it must have been fun going to work in your pajamas.
Kendall: Yeah, of course. Chillin’ with Snoop Dogg in our pajamas was pretty awesome.
Popstar!: Was he a cool guy in person?
Kendall: You know what, he’s just one of the most humble, awesome, most hilarious guys that you’ll ever meet. He was really cool and he had such personal style, I know I remember him walking out on set and everybody was just taken aback because he’s just really a cool guy through-and-through.
Popstar!: What’s your favorite Christmas song of all time?
James: I like [singing] “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose.”
Logan: I don’t know, I like the more classic, you know like choirs do, Christmas songs. I think that’s pretty cool, pretty rock and roll.

Adrenaline ‘Rush’: Nickelodeon star sweet on hitting the ‘Big Time’

FROM BOSTON HERALDWhen Kendall Schmidt was 6, he starred in a Chex cereal commercial with his two older brothers.
Since then, he’s been working for his big break. His family moved from his small hometown of Andover, Kan., to New York and then to Los Angeles to help the boys pursue showbiz careers.
Last year, Schmidt, who had appeared on “Gilmore Girls,” “ER” and “CSI: Miami,” landed his first regular series role as lead singer Kendall on “Big Time Rush.” The comedy, about four friends (including Logan Henderson, James Maslow and Carlos Pena Jr.) who move from Minnesota to Los Angeles to form a popular boy band, has become one of Nickelodeon’s biggest hits.
The one-hour special, “Big Time Christmas,” with guest stars Miranda Cosgrove (Nickelodeon’s “iCarly”), Fabio and Snoop Dogg, airs tonight at 8. The episode features the new song “Beautiful Christmas,” the group’s duet with Cosgrove on a cover of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You,” and “Let’s Stay in Our PJs (All Christmas Long)” with Snoop Dogg.

“It’s my favorite episode we’ve filmed so far. We all are our characters, just less exaggerated,” Schmidt told the Herald in a telephone interview from Los Angeles on a day off from filming. “It’s really cool. I get to play myself most of the time. I just have to have a little more energy.”
That’s not the only similarity between the real and the fictional Kendall. On the show, the boys live in the Palm Woods Hotel, where they are surrounded by other actors and singers. Schmidt lived in the Oakwood, an apartment complex in Los Angeles known for housing those trying to break into the business.
“I lived in the Oakwoods for five years,” he said. “I know exactly what that experience is like – being surrounded by a whole bunch of other kids trying to be actors. Kirsten Dunst and Christina Milian used to babysit me.”
Now 20, Schmidt credits his parents with making his career possible.
“Acting and singing is the only thing I’ve ever known and my whole family has ever known,” he said. “I really couldn’t have done anything if it wasn’t for my parents being very supportive. It’s not very often that parents drop everything and take their kids where they want to go to do what they want to do. I gotta give my dad a lot of props for holding strong. It’s taken like 14 years to get to where I am.”
Schmidt said he has a lot of time to think about his career while touring with Big Time Rush.
“I’m just fortunate to even be working and to say, ‘Yeah, I’m a working actor,’ when someone asks me what I do for a living,” he said.
That outlook helps him get along with his co-stars.
“We all find each other entertaining and funny,” he said. “Yeah, sure, we all fight because it’s like having three brothers you spend 16 hours a day with, but it never goes beyond a certain point. We usually end up making each other laugh and we forget about it, and honestly, it’s not really that serious. We’re not curing cancer. We’re making a TV show. We just want to make people laugh. That’s the whole goal. So to take it too seriously and to get into too big of arguments is just ridiculous.”

Russel Brand visits Big Time Rush!

British comic Russell Brand has signed on for an episode of Nickelodeon’s “Big Time Rush.”
The episode, tentatively titled “Beach Blanket Big Time,” doesn’t yet have an official airdate. Brand is expected to play himself in several scenes that take place during a party at his beach-front “mansion,” where Big Time Rush plays a concert (it’s possible Brand will join them for an onstage jam session).
“Big Time Rush” has been corralling some big names of late; Snoop Dogg and Fabio (well, a sort-of-big name) appear on this Saturday’s episode (8 p.m.), along with “iCarly” star Miranda Cosgrove.
Brand, who recently married Katy Perry, is also scheduled for a voiceover on “The Simpsons” this season.

Teen sensation Big Time Rush Perform at the Allentown Fair

Just in time for holiday gift giving, the Allentown Fair has announced its first act for 2011 — Big Time Rush, the latest teen and tween sensation to jump from a TV show to the concert stage. The group will perform Sept. 4 — the Sunday of Labor Day weekend — and tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 11.
Tickets will be $20 and $35. To sweeten a holiday gift package, the fair is offering tickets for all day ride wristbands at an additional $15.
Since the show debuted on Nickelodeon last fall, an audience of 3 to 4 million per episode has been tuning into the escapades of Logan, Carlos, James and Kendall (Logan Henderson begin_of_the_skype_highlighting     end_of_the_skype_highlighting, Carlos Pena, James Maslow and Kendall Schmidt), an aspiring boy band that attends a performing arts high school.
While the actual singer-actors are from all regions of the country, on the sitcom they portray four ice hockey- playing best friends from Minnesota that moved to Los Angeles after winning a tryout to become the “next great boy band.”

Show creator Scott Fellows acknowledges that its premise is a throwback to “The Monkees,” the 1960s hit series that featured the comedic adventures of a male pop/rock group trying to hit it big.
The same way that phenomenon transformed four actor-singer-musicians into recording and touring artists, Big Time Rush is out with a self-titled album “BTR,” a new single and music video “Til I Forget About You” and throngs of fans showing up at promotional appearances for their new releases.
Dedicated followers already know a catalog of songs that the foursome has performed on the series, and because Fellows tagged their television characters with their real-life first names and personality traits, the growing faithful are more than curious to see them in person.
In their alter egos’ home state of Minnesota, more than 9,000 screaming enthusiasts turned out to see the real thing perform a mini-concert in the Mall of America last month.
BTR’s headlining tour starts in the spring, and The Allentown Fair is the first major date to be announced for a late summer swing. Special guests will be announced at a later date.
Tickets will be available at the Fair Box Office, at Ticketmaster.com, at 800-745-3000 Ticketmaster Centers.
For more information and upcoming announcements, go to www.allentownfairpa.org.

  • Make sure you get there early if you want a good view. The crowd starts to form as early as 6:30AM for a sort of informal pre-parade street party. Stop for donuts and coffee and have breakfast al fresco while you wait.
  • Macy's advises people to leave folding chairs at home. They become cumbersome when the crowds start filling up the sidewalk.
  • Don't forget to dress warmly. November in New York gets pretty chilly after a couple of hours outside. Layers are always a good bet.
If you would rather stay inside, you can watch the parade live on NBC from 9AM to 12 Noon.
