The Big Time Rush series debuted last fall to the highest rated and most viewed premier in Nickelodeon’s history. The live action show featuring Logan Henderson, Carlos Pena, James Maslow, and Kendall Schmidt continues to attract 3 to 4 million viewers each episode.
The show follows four friends from Minnesota as they hit it big and move to Los Angeles after winning a contest to become the “next great boy band”. Although the band members are from various parts of the country, the show still follows many parallels to the band’s real life music career.
Although they’ve sold nearly 900,000 combined digital singles to date, this full-length release has been a long time coming. After a two-year audition process and a whirlwind year of filming, recording and promoting, the band eventually holed up at a Los Angeles studio for just over two weeks to record BTR. The album reflects the guys’ boy band aesthetic, but it also taps into a spectrum of genres, including pop, R&B, rock and dance.
“I think people are going to be really surprised by the kind of music that’s on the album,” Kendall says. “It shows the diversity in the group and the different styles of music we’re into, and it’s really interesting to hear the mix of our voices – it’s hard to even put a genre on it.”
Big Time Rush recently released their first album entitled “BTR.” The album debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Album list at number three. Although Big Time Rush TV viewers have heard some of the 11 songs on the album on the show there are other songs that are new to fans. The first single and video from the album is “Til I Forget About You.”
Tickets for the Sunday, July 24, show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17. Patrons can visit www.DelawareStateFair.com or call to purchase tickets.
